Awards

Applied Engineering (AE) has received special recognition from numerous local, state, and national organizations since its beginnings in 1986. Below are some examples of awards and recognition received by AE.

Best Place to Work

In 2011 Applied Engineering was selected by the North Dakota Young Professionals Network as the Best Place to Work. Applied Engineering was selected from over 60 nominations as the top company for young professionals based on a variety of factors including benefits, culture and advancement opportunities.

Top Place to Intern

In 2011 Applied Engineering was selected by the North Dakota Young Professionals Network as a Top Place to Intern.

Top Place to Work

In 2009 and 2010 Applied Engineering was selected by the North Dakota Young Professionals Network a Top Place to Work.

Top Ten Places to Work in Bismarck-Mandan Area.

In 2008 and 2009 Applied Engineering (AE) was selected by the Young Professionals Network as one of the top ten places to work in Bismarck-Mandan. Businesses were evaluated on several criteria related to young professionals, including innovation, benefits, inclusion, flexibility, and opportunities for advancement.

DriveWorks North American Reseller Award

The award was presented by DriveWorks Marketing Director, Maria Sarkar to David Johanning -- Vice President Sales/Operations of Applied Engineering at SolidWorks World 2004 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Presenting the award, Maria said, “DriveWorks resellers are selected for their ability to extend the use of design tools beyond the engineering department.”

Gold Star Award

The Gold Star Award was presented to Applied Engineering, Inc. because it met the following criteria:

• Being in business in the Bismarck-Mandan area for at least three years
• Showing sales growth of a 10 percent minimum increase in any three out of the past five years
• Increasing employees by at least six full-time equivalent positions in any three out of the past five years

2003 Excellence in Business Award

Applied Engineering received the Excellence in Business Award. This award is presented to the Gold Star recipient who has experience the most growth in number of employees and sales.

Enterprise Technology Team Earns Award

Applied Engineering earned the Campus Representative of the Quarter award for the fourth quarter, 2000. Sun presented the award to Dwight Hinkel, AE CEO, at the annual Sun Educational Conference in San Diego, CA. The award is presented each quarter to the top campus representative in each region of the nation. Applied is in the Midwest Education District.
