Company History

Applied Engineering was founded in Fargo, North Dakota, in 1986 as an engineering consulting company. Since then, Applied Engineering has grown to over 150 employees, including 100 engineers.

Over time, Applied Engineering diversified its offerings to include not only engineering services, but also engineering software products, hardware products, information technology services, printing services and inventor assistance services.

Not only has Applied Engineering expanded its offerings, but its brands have expanded as well. Today, Applied Engineering's information technology services are known as EdgePath Technology, while Applied Engineering's inventor assistance services are known as Widget Works.

While Applied Engineering has grown, its mission remains the same; provide superior engineering services and technology solutions.

Applied Engineering's growth over the past 21 years has allowed it to open more offices in more locations to better serve its customers. Applied Engineering currently has six offices in five states; Fargo, ND; Bismarck, ND; Maple Grove, MN; Sioux Falls, SD; Eau Claire, WI; and Addison, TX.

Over its 21-year span, Applied Engineering has received numerous awards, including the Gold Star Award and the Excellence in Business Award.

Though Applied Engineering has achieved success, the company has not forgotten about its employees. In fact, the company became 100 percent employee-owned in 2006.
