Applied Engineering, Inc. is accepting applications for a Systems Architect for Fargo, ND. This position will provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to the Enterprise Technology sales team and customers including gathering customer requirements and recommending solutions and delivering professional services to customers as necessary.Minimum requirements include:
• B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS, or equivalent
• 3+ years experience as a UNIX Systems Administrator involving the support of Sun Solaris or Linux workstations and servers. This includes knowledge of:
o Sun SPARC hardware & Intel/AMD x86/x64 hardware
o Networking (Ethernet + TCP/IP)
o Common protocols (http, smtp, ftp, etc)
o Network equipment (switches, routers, etc)
o NAS and DAS storage subsystems
o Infrastructure software (DNS, NFS, mail, web servers, and directory servers)
o Enterprise tape backup software (Legato Networker, Veritas Netbackup, etc)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects at once
Additional preferred skills/knowledge:
• Sun Certified Systems Administrator and Sun Certified Network Administrator certifications
• MS Windows Server 2003/XP/NT
• Red Hat or Cisco certifications
