applications specialist/engineer #0113Applied Engineering Technology, Inc. / Applied Engineering, Inc. has immediate openings for an Application Specialist/Engineer to be based out of Maple Grove, MN. In this unique position, the individual would be able to utilize their solid modeling skills and expertise to assist customers with software that AE sells. This position is utilized as the resident CAD expert, working along side AE’s sales team for software sales. Under the supervision of the V.P. Engineering Technology, this position is responsible for implementations, training, and support activities for AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Productstream PDM, and DesignSpace from ANSYS. AE has a staff of superb technical and sales personnel ready to assist this position to make an immediate impact.
Minimum requirements include: A.S. or B.S. Degree in Design/Drafting, Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related degree. 3+ years experience with 3D solid modeling working in an engineering/manufacturing or computer consulting environment utilizing any of the following: FEA, SolidEdge, SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire, Unigraphics, NX, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Productstream PDM, DesignSpace from ANSYS or other related. The successful candidate will be experienced in solid-modeling concepts, product design, product sales or applications support, and/or teaching these types of products. Must have above average communication skills, ability to demonstrate software technologies, and be able and willing to travel on a minimal basis.
