This course covers the fundamental principles of 3D parametric part design, assembly design, and creating production-ready part and assembly drawings using Autodesk® Inventor. Students learn how to capture design intent by using the proper techniques and recommended workflows for:

• Creating, placing, and constraining custom and standard components in an assembly
• Simulating mechanisms, animating assembly designs, and checking for interferences

Autodesk® Inventor Advanced Assembly Modeling

In this course, we begin by discussing the concept of Top-Down Design for assembly creation. Planning the assembly using the top-down design approach helps create clean, reusable geometry that interacts as expected with the rest of the assembly. Throughout the course you will be taught how various Inventor tools can be used to achieve Top-Down Design practices in your assemblies using Derive, Multi-Body Design, and Layouts. Other advanced assembly topics include Positional and Level of Detail Representations (including substitute), iMates and iAssemblies, Frame Generator, Design Accelerator, and file management and duplication techniques that aim to help you become more efficient when working with assemblies.

Autodesk® Inventor Sheet Metal Design

Inventor Sheet Metal Design training introduces the concepts and techniques of sheet metal modeling with Autodesk® Inventor. The topics presented in this training guide enable students to create features that are specific to the sheet metal modeling process. The structure of the guide follows the standard sequence of design stages in Inventor. That is, to create sheet metal parts, edit them, generate flat patterns, and to document the designs in drawings.
