AutoCAD® 2010

Fundamentals - Part 1 - 3 days - PDF download

Students learn the indispensable core topics for working with AutoCAD®. Starting with a few basic tools that enable students to create simple drawings. Then students will continue to develop those tools, as well as being introduced to more advanced tools.

Specific topics include:

  • Understanding the AutoCAD® workspace and user interface
  • Using basic drawing, editing, and viewing tools
  • Organizing drawing objects on layers
  • Inserting reusable symbols
  • Preparing a layout to be plotted
  • Adding text, hatching, and dimensions

Fundamentals - Part 2 - 2 days - PDF download

Students learn more sophisticated techniques that extend the student’s mastery of the program. For example, here the course goes beyond the basic skill of inserting a block to learn how to create blocks, and beyond the basic skill of using a template to understand the process of setting up a template.

Specific topics include:

  • Using more advanced editing and construction techniques
  • Creating local and global blocks
  • Setting up layers, styles, and templates

Advanced - 3 days - PDF download

Students learn about the AutoCAD®'s more advanced functionality. This course covers the Action Recorder feature as well as the Ribbon interface for accessing commands. Focus is also placed on the applications advanced annotation, drawing with complex objects, and defining blocks and attributes.

Specific topics include:

  • Advanced text objects
  • Creating tables
  • Defining dynamic blocks and attributes
  • Using external reference files and image files
  • Creating sheet sets
  • CAD management and system setup
  • Enhancing productivity with interface customization of AutoCAD®

Prerequisites: AutoCAD® Fundamentals.
